AI Sign Language Interpreter

Real-time sign language to text translation using computer vision and deep learning. Deployed with local government in the Philippines to reach the wider sign language community.

The hard part wasn't the model — it was making it fast enough to feel like conversation. Multithreading brought latency down to where real communication became possible. Won the NYUSH Innovation Challenge.
